Center a ASP:Linkbutton inside a ASP:Gridview - html

I'm using a ASP:Linkbutton with some CSS inside a ASP:Gridview and I was able to get it inserted but cannot get it centered in the column. The code I'm running is:
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Modify" ItemStyle-Width="1px" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="cmdModifyUser" runat="server" CssClass="ovalbutton">
<span>
Modify
</span>
</asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Delete" ItemStyle-Width="1px">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="cmdDeleteUser" runat="server" CssClass="ovalbutton">
<span>
Delete
</span>
</asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
This code is encapsulated after my last /asp:BoundField and before /Columns inside my /asp:Gridview .
When this is run, it looks like this:
I'm trying to get those buttons centered in the column.
I've tried as much HTML as I could find to try to center this but with no luck.
Also, you'll notice the code of ItemStyle-Width:1px in there too. If I don't put that in, or something like it, I get this:
Thank you for your help & let me know if you need anymore information.

imagefield clickable in a gridview

i have this imagefield in a gridview
<asp:ImageField HeaderText="Image" DataImageUrlField="Image_Path" ControlStyle-Width="50" ControlStyle-Height="50"/>
the image_path is a column name from the database that retuns the image link
i need to make this field clickable so once i click on it i need to popup a form just like this field:
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="View">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton3" CommandName="Select" onClick="popup_click" class="table-actions-button ic-table-edit" runat="server"></asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
i tried to put an image button instead of an image field but i'm always getting submit query instead of the image...
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Image">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:ImageButton ID="ImageButton1" runat="server" DataImageUrlFormatString="Image_Path" ControlStyle-Width="50" ControlStyle-Height="50"/>
</ItemTemplate>
does anyone know how can i fix this?

asp.net gridview edit template http link

I have a label within an Edit Template for a gridview which goes like this:
<asp:Label ID="lblProjectID" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Project_ID") %>'></asp:Label>
I would like to turn that label text into a http link like so:
<asp:Label ID="lblProjectID" runat="server" Text='<a href=http://intranet/?<%# Bind("Project_ID") %>> <%# Bind("Project_ID") %></a>'></asp:Label>
So the link would look something like http://intranet/?Project_ID
But that syntax is incorrect. What is the correct way to write that?
This is what you can do on your Label tag.
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<a href='<%# String.Format("http://intranet/?Project_ID={0}", Eval("Project_ID")) %>'><%# Eval("Project_ID")%></a>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
If you want it to be a link... then just use a link, not a label:
<a href='http://intranet/?<%# Eval("Project_ID") %>'><%# Eval("Project_ID")%></a>
or same thing with HyperLinkField (if you want to use it as a column and not inside EditItemTemplate:
<asp:HyperLinkField DataTextField="Project_ID" DataNavigateUrlFields="Project_ID" DataNavigateUrlFormatString="http://intranet/?{0}" />

ASP.NET: How to re-flow GridView cells over multiple lines

I have an application which contains a table with two columns: messageid and messageDesc . Inside the messageDesc column there is a message description. When I try to bind the GridView to the messageDesc column, it renders the entire column on a single line, requiring the user to scroll horizontally to view the complete text. I want to prevent this by having the description flow over multiple lines. How do I do this?
I have tried using the ItemStyle attribute but it's not working. Please suggest a solution. In addition to this, I can't change the database message content.
Thanks in advance.
Warp label insdie div element and than try out this will surely work for you
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<div style="width:100px;">
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text="<%# Eval("description") %>"></asp:Label>
</div>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
or
<ItemStyle Wrap="true" Width="100px" />
You can display data in textbox using template field instead of bound field. See below, textbox code. Your TemplateField would look like this:
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" ReadOnly="True" Text='<%# Eval("MessageDesc") %>'
TextMode="MultiLine"></asp:TextBox>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
The ReadOnly setting keeps users from editing the data while having it still enabled for them. In Edit mode, of course you would set ReadOnly to false.

Asp.net 2.0 Gridview edit

i have used grid view to display data. Now i need to edit the row. I have kept edit link button in template field of grid-view. Now when i click the edit button, i need to retrieve the data for particular row into the server controls, so that user can enter the data into it.
How can i do that?
let me know if any info required..

UPDATED
See http://img18.imageshack.us/i/editform.jpg/
Now, when i click edit from below grid, the data in grid should come up in above form.
There is a different template available in Gridview and you have to use it properly. For example, if you want to edit something, the editTemplate is available for that.. look at the following sample:
<asp:GridView runat="server" ID="grd">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="lbl"></asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
<EditItemTemplate>
<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="Textbox1"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:HiddenField runat="server" ID="hdf" />
</EditItemTemplate>
<InsertItemTemplate>
<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="Textbox1"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:HiddenField runat="server" ID="hdf" />
</InsertItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
have a look on these article

This is such a general question that you should really review how the GridView works in the first place.
Try reviewing the following example from MSDN regarding GridView editting;

Tooltip in GridView

What is the easiest way to include a tooltip in the gridView column?
For example in this column
<asp:BoundField DataField="short_comment" HeaderText="Comments" ReadOnly="True" SortExpression="short_comment"/>
I would like to have something like
<asp:BoundField DataField="short_comment" ToolTipDataField="longer_comment"/>
Obviously the ToolTipDataField does not exist, but what would be the easiest way to achieve that functionality?
Replaced with template
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Comments" SortExpression="short_comment">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("short_comment") %>' ToolTip ='<%# Bind("longer_comment") %>'></asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
e.Row.Cells[7].ToolTip = e.Row.Cells[7].Text;
i did something like that it seems worked. What i do is to show the content of cell as a tool tip. You can put some longer comments here.
I handled situtation from codebehind. No sure it is best solution.
hope it helps.
